Almost walking.

Leia is on the verge of walking. :) She cruises around the furniture like a pro and she stands and looks around and holds on with one hand ... and you can see her wanting to move forward and try to walk, but she is still just a little unsure of herself. :) We think any day now she will "try" to take her first steps. We don't think she will be successful.. :) but we think she will try. :)

She is growing up like crazy. Her little personality is growing every day. She is incredibly stubborn and she has a bad temper.. not exactly the best combination. She understands "NO!" very well.. but only if Mommy says it. She ignores everyone else who says "no." Pappa says "no" and she keeps going as if she didn't hear.. Mamma says "no" and she stops and turns around and returns to where she was. Sometimes she tries to trick Mamma and will start to crawl towards me and then will make a u-turn and return to where she was..... Or she will hide behind something and peek around to see if Mommy is still watching her. :/ :))) She is a very silly baby. :) A very happy baby. :)

She is getting 2 more teeth. :) They should be popping through anytime. She has lost her appetite a little, but otherwise it hasn't affected her as much as the bottom 2 that came in. It is her top, front 2 that are now coming in. The gums have been very swollen and white. So we are anxious for Leia to have 4 teeth. :)

Leia loves her books. She LOVES them. She will reach for a book before playing with a toy. She will sit and turn the pages and "read" aloud to everyone. :) She will do the same with a piece of paper. She will sit and look at it and read it to us and turn it around in her hands and read the entire thing. :) We aren't sure what she is saying but she is very serious and intense when she reads her books.

Fredrik thinks Leia should be walking already.. :/ :)) He tells her she needs to hurry and walk. :) And I remind him that the average age for a baby to start crawling is 9 months. But I think that since she started everything so early that we are expecting her to be doing everything by now. :)

We've been doing lots of driving and visiting lots of nice places. :) Yesterday we drove a little North-West and went to a shopping center. It was great. Lots of nice stores. Fredrik bought me a beautiful present that I had been wanting to buy. (From Indiska.) It matches two smaller bowls that I have that are purple.
And we were able to finally stock up on Leia's favorite pacifiers. Remember the baby that wouldn't take a pacifier?? Well, she has played with them so much that now she HAS to have one when she goes to sleep..... And of course her favorite "sleep" ones we only have 2 of and you can only get them at a certain baby store... and we have none of these stores anywhere near us. So we were able to get one yesterday.

That is the nice thing about being on vacation .. all the fun things you can buy.. ;)

While in Smögen, Fredrik saw an amazingly adorable (and expensive) little, winter baby jacket. :) Size was perfect for Leia for winter. It is as pink as pink can be and very thick and warm. :)

While in Höglekardalen we finally bought something we've been wanting to buy for years. We bought a lamp from a store that sells only* things made of wood. A hanging lamp for the kitchen window. It is beautiful. Expensive but it was our anniversary present for ourselves. :)

And then you have the reality costs of daily living.. :/ :)
Today we had tires replaced for our Volvo. Ouch! Double the price of what it costs in the US! 6000sek (1000$) for 4 tires and balancing, etc.. etc..

Tomorrow we are going to Nössemark to visit with Farmor and Farfar. Fredrik is getting wood sawed today so we can take correctly measured, sawed wood with us (to build steps to the outside toilet). :)

We only have a couple days left with Mormor and Morfar. :( Hopefully they have enjoyed their visit with us and with Leia. And we hope that we have showed them more of the Swedish countryside. :) They have seen plenty of the city, so it was due time for them to see the middle of nowhere. :)

Right now I have bread rising and I hope to make lots of cookies. Some to take with us tomorrow. For lunch we are going to go to an American hamburger place that just opened up. The other American in town, her dad opened the place (he is Swedish), so we want to take our first trip there. :)

*Of course there are exceptions.
