What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Literature Nerd

Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it's eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works.

It's okay. I understand.

Christmas 01.

Merry Christmas!

As Swedish tradition, we opened all our presents after dinner on Christmas Eve. A bit different from the American tradition. I definitely prefer the American tradition, it makes Christmas Day feel very pointless when opening all your presents on Christmas Eve. :/ Next year we might do it the American way, and then when Leia gets old enough we'll let her decide how she wants to celebrate. :)

Leia had 2 Santas show up yesterday! :)
Yesterday around 10, a Santa came to the door and let Leia have a few pieces of candy (stiff, strawberry, marshmellow candy) out of his basket. She grabbed 2 pieces and waved frantically and the Santa. :)) She very happily ate her candy. :) We are guessing it was the neighbor across the street. We have no idea who it was. :D He is brothers with our neighbor next door, who have grandchildren over for the holiday, so we are guessing he went to a few other houses to give out some candy. :) Since there are so many children on the street this year.

Then we had our 2nd Santa stop by later in the afternoon. :) This time it was dark and it was 2 Santas that rang the doorbell! One Santa had a sack, the other a lantern. Leia got a present out of the Santa's sack. :) How cool is that? :) Leia was super happy and waved, but didn't get up the nerve to say "tack" (thank you). The gift-giving Santa was Aina, our family friend. She lives in Nössemark, but she has family in Åmål, so we have a feeling she was celebrating with them yesterday and decided to stop by for Leia's sake. :) How sweet!! :) So that was lots of fun. :)

At daycare, they made ornaments! :) They put glitter on pine cones. :) Here is Leia's pine cone:

Very cute, no? :) So now we can start collecting all the things she makes at daycare. :) She also has an ornament that is a paper cut-out of a tree, with stickers on it. They also made candle holders! They used empty baby-food jars, and put glue all around the outside, and let the children roll them around in glitter. :) It is actually a very beautiful candle holder and we have it sitting on our DVD case. :)

They also gave us a few drawings Leia has done, and a CD with pictures they've taken of her up until Christmas time. :) So I will try to add a few of those as well over vacation!

Mormor and Morfar sent some chocolate santas. :) With crispies in the chocolate. Well.. we've come to learn that Leia LOVES chocolate. :D She is getting a little bite every day, but she gets very angry when we take it away. :/ :)

That is enough for now! :) I'll add more later! :)

Good luck, Carie!

Today, in the US, one of my best friends, Carie, is going to be going into the hospital. She is 8 months, 1 week pregnant (still 3 weeks to go). If the baby is well developed today (most importantly the lungs), then they are going to induce Carie, so that the baby girl, Lillie, will be born early. Carie is carrying a lot of amniotic fluid, and it keeps increasing. Lillie is already 7 pounds (3,15kg), with the possibility of getting 3 pounds (1,4kg) heavier in the next weeks. So we are hoping that all goes well for Carie today. I'm sure she is anxious and nervous and very willing to have Lillie show up early. :)

What a fantastic Christmas present for Carie and her family! :)

Fourth Advent.

Today is the 4th Advent, the last Sunday before Christmas. So we had lots of candles lit in the house today. :)

We haven't done too much.. We (finally) finished the tree! We wanted to do it when Leia was awake, so then it made it more difficult to find time to do it, especially during the week. But now it is up, and all the presents underneath.. :)

Yesterday we did lots of food shopping for the holidays. We wanted to get it overwith as soon as possible.. knowing that the closer it gets to Christmas, the more crowded it will be everywhere.

Yes.. Leia likes to wear her socks on her hands..

Today we took a lazy day. Fredrik carried pellets, 1 pallet of the 3 that was sitting in the front yard. Each pallet is 1 ton of pellets. I got to help just a little, after I was done putting Leia down for her nap. We hope to do at least 1 more tomorrow, while Leia is taking her like-clockwork 3 hour nap from 11-2.

I have my SPCS test tomorrow morning. I know I know what I need to know for the test. I think I am more worried about what it will look like. (How the test will be given.) So we'll see how that goes. I know I'll pass it, but.. well.. we all know that "just passing" isn't good enough for me.

I am SO anxious to be done with school.. :/ I want a break. I wanna properly clean the house.. :)) I will have a little more time now and a little less stress. It will be nice. Tomorrow, I will celebrate! For being done with school.. although I have no idea how. :))

We've all been feeling better. After my night with the fever, I've been slowly feeling better every day. I still have a bit of back pain, so I'm hoping that that goes away soon enough. Must have been some weird stomach-cold or something like that. Fredrik is much better too, he just has a weird cough that he's been getting off and on for a few months, when his throat gets dry and scratchy. Leia's nose is running like crazy, it goes back and forth. But that could also be because of her teeth cutting through. You can now see her 9 teeth. :) 4 on the top (front 4), and then 5 on the bottom (3 front, and 2 back teeth).

Monday: SPCS test, a little shopping for fun, gingerbread baking.
Tuesday: Leia has daycare (scheduled before we knew the days for Christmas), pellet carrying day if we haven't finished that yet.
Wednesday: Christmas Eve.
Thursday: Christmas Day.
Friday: Sleep. :)

Haparanda.

Fredrik found a job in Haparanda. :D As you can see it is very far North in Sweden. It is the same job he does now and even with the same company. He asked me if I wanna move. :D Although it would be very interesting and definitely an experience to live so North in Sweden. Especially right on the border with Finland. But I don't see us moving any time in the near future. :)

First picture.

First picture with the new camera. :)

She kept making this face..

This is her new smile-face for pictures. :D Not extremely attractive, but she constantly makes it when it is camera time.

A fever!

I actually had a fever last night. :/ I haven't had a fever in.. 4 years.

I felt worse and worse yesterday as the day went on. My entire stomach region, cramping and aching, the pain radiating around my sides and over my entire back. NO idea what it is. Extremely dehydrated, too. I'm guessing some kind of weird bug going around. I even cried yesterday plenty because the pain was just so bad. I could barely stand by the end of the day. Before bed I took 3 tylenol, I was slightly warm, but was chilling quite badly. I broke my fever during the night, and I have felt a little better today so far. We'll see how the rest of the day goes! Today it is more the back pain that is bothering me. I'm still light headed and dizzy though.

:/ So I hope it goes away quickly so I can properly look after Leia tomorrow, and study for my test that I have on Monday. :/

We did receive the camera yesterday! :) Fredrik played with it a little.. I'm anxious to figure out how to use it.

More later..

From Leia.

Here is "Leia's" Christmas present to her teachers. :) The two teachers and the substitute that has been filling in for one of the teachers on mommy-leave, their names are Anna-Karin, Ann and Anna. :D I wanted to do a little something for them. I told Fredrik that if we were in the US I would have fixed something for them, so just because I am in Sweden, I don't want to not do it just because it isn't the norm here. I refuse to compromise myself. :P Anna, the sub, was the one I gave them to, and she was very surprised and grateful. :) I love the holiday season. :))

Leia is still sick; she was coughing a lot this morning. But it was a loose cough, so hopefully she is coughing up plenty of stuff and she will soon get better. Fredrik is getting better, I think. And I was doing fine, but this morning I woke up very sick to my stomach and dizzy. Maybe I slept very poorly last night. :/

I have been studying for my SPCS test. I will take it next Monday. Fredrik will be home from work, so no problem with Leia being home from daycare that day.

Fredrik had to work in Ed today, so he left early this morning and drove there to work before heading into the office.

Leia is doing so well at daycare. :) She hasn't cried or complained at all the last 2 days that I've left here there. So Fredrik and I are very pleased and content. We really like the women, they are very nice and you can tell they really care about Leia. :) We always have liked them, it was just the time when they kept wanting us to pick her up early that we were a little unsure of some things.

The camera is still unhappy. Fredrik ordered the new camera.. on.. Monday. :) So it might even show up today! :) Definitely by Friday, because it had shipped yesterday. So I'm looking forward to it showing up. :)
