Crazy, crazy Leia.

This morning I went to get Leia out of bed, around 07.00 -- and I went to pick her up and she pushed me away. She was sitting in bed, holding her favorite cat in one hand and pointing at the figures on her sheets with the other. And talking to them. She was happy. :)

Then she took her index finger and her thumb and tried to pull her toe nail off! She pinched and finally pulled and then she slooowly lifted her fingers to her face and she saw her finger nail and she became SO excited !! :D She thought she pulled off her toe nail! :) Then what did she do?? She put her fingers in her mouth to eat it! :D And she said, "MMmmmm!!" :D What a silly, silly baby. :)

She wouldn't leave her bed though. She wanted to stay and play! So I left her in her crib with the light on and I went back to bed. :P About 30 minutes later she started complaining, so I got her out and put her in her playpen so she could read her books (what she does every morning when I shower), and she says "doodoo!!"

Doodoo = cheerios
:/ :)
So she gets a handful of cheerios, by request.

Yesterday we had a great day! Despite my horrible morning. :/ I was very sick yesterday, but we decided to go to Karlstad anyways for the hunting of a "umbrella" stroller to take with us on our trip to the US. We definitely will need one when going around in the airports.

Here is what we bought::

There was a black one, but Fredrik didn't want black. He really liked the bright pink one, and he said there would be no chance of confusing Leia for a boy.. :)

Then we made our way to IKEA (of course). :) Fredrik was hungry, so he got a hotdog in the lobby, and I decided to try to eat something, so I got a popsicle. That was at 13.30 or something like that and the first thing I had been able to keep in my tummy all day. :( But then I was starving. :D So I got another popsicle on the way out and we stopped at Burger King to have some dinner.

We didn't have anything we needed to get at IKEA, so we just slowly looked around. We did get a lamp to replace the one that Leia broke not too long ago. And a few other odd and end things.

It was crowded at IKEA, but it really wasn't that bad. The parking lot was packed but it wasn't that crowded in the store.

Leia had her first chicken nugget! She would only eat one, but she liked it well enough. She tried her first french fry, but she wasn't too fond of that at all. She just threw them away. :)

About 6-7 guys came in from a local soccer club and sat near us. She was laughing up a storm and they kept looking at her and watching her and grinning from ear to ear. :)

Leia really wanted to play outside when we got home. One of her favorite games now is to play peek-a-boo behind the curtain.

The neighbor was outside, and her grandson was visiting, and he was also outside with her. I could hear him asking his grandmother, "Can I go play with Leia??" :) So she said of course, and the two played together for well over an hour. :)

Leia aboslutely loves him! They played SO well together. :) The two played and then Fredrik and I got to chat with the neighbor a lot and that was also very nice. :)

The boy's name is Nils, and he is 4 years old. He has a little sister, Alice, that just turned 1. The neighbor said that everytime he is at their house, he asks if he can come over and play with Leia. :) And yesterday, they were both out at the same time and so it worked out well. He was SO good with her! He held her hand and led her around, helped her up and down the stairs, gave her hugs and petted her cheeks. :)) It was SO adorable!! :)

A fantastic end to a fantastic day!!

US Mother's Day!

So today is Mother's Day in the US. :)
Fredrik and I celebrate Swedish Mother's Day, which should be later this month. It is so diffiuclt to keep up with all of the holiday days between both countries. I'm always forgetting something or another throughout the year.. :/ :))

So a very Happy Mother's Day to all my American readers. :)

Leia : the diaper hoarder.

Bestest friends in the whole World !!

I do have some absolutely, fantastic friends!
Carie sent Leia a box with some goodies! She is a friend of mine from high school that is now a teacher for the US Air Force. With three children, a full time job, a home, a husband and she still has the time to send something to us.

An adorable outfit. Unfortunately it is TOO cold in Sweden still yet for her to wear it, so she'll get to wear it in the US first, and then after we come back from the US, the weather will be more appropriate in Sweden. Adorable!

This is just the most awesome thing ever. Fredrik thinks it is super-cool. It is paints and markers that don't leave stains! Everything is clear, and then you use special paper and the color shows up. It is just awesome! Especially since Leia LOVES to paint on her hand, so it leaves NO mess. At least once a day, Leia will bring the paint set to me and go running to her high chair. :) She loves this stuff! I'm going to have to make sure we get more when we are in the US. Why can't they sell this stuff in Sweden ?!?!

Adorable Hello Kitty magnets that Leia loves to play with.

The American cure for not being able to keep anything down! This stuff is awesome! Next time Leia gets really sick and she won't eat or drink anything, this is what she will get. :) Keep her hydrated and give her all those nutrients she needs.

And some of Leia's most favorite snacks. She went *crazy* about the baby cheese doodles!! :D

Thank you SO much, Carie! (And Terry, Allyson, Trenton and Lillie, too!) :)
It was so sweet of you to send some stuff for Leia and such good choices, too! You're the best! :)

Summer house with Farmor and Farfar.

Today is Farmor's 61st birthday! Happy birthday, Farmor!

Farmor and Farfar spent the weekend at the summer house so we went to visit with them today. Leia has enjoyed the beautiful weather and she wants to be outside ALL the time, and today was no exception. Farmor fixed a yummy dinner and a yummy cake and we spent lots of time outside.

Leia helping Farmor plant some sunflowers.

Leia sitting with Farfar on the well.

Of course spending time rolling down the hills.

Sitting on the outhouse steps with Farfar.

Playing soccer with Pappa.

Spend some time watering the flowers.

Picking pine cones while taking a walk in the woods with Mamma and Pappa.

Leia's had plenty of practice gathering pine cones with her daycare class.

Since Fredrik had to work on Friday, he decided to come home early on Thursday and we both got to pick Leia up from daycare. Then he worked some on Friday and we spent the rest of the day outside.

Leia wore her first baby sunscreen yesterday. :)) SPF 5000. :D Not really necessary in Sweden, but we'll get plenty of use out of it when we are in the US. The weather has been SO sunny and warm. Very above average for Sweden for this time of the year. Before 11 today, it was 22 degC / 72 degF in the shade!

We feel a little weird though.. I mean.. the weather is really, really warm, and Leia is out in loose pants and a t-shirt. Other neighbor babies that are the same age have jackets and hats! And that is just WAY so excessive. Silly even.

No plans for tomorrow really. I would like to clean, but when Leia wants to be outside, if possible it is best for both of us to be out with her. It is pretty tiring running around after her. :/ We wouldn't mind a rainy day, though. That would let us get some things done inside at least. :) And I don't think the plants/trees/bushes would mind either.

I'm really, really tired. So that is all for tonight!

Too cute.

I love this video; it makes me smile from ear to ear each time I watch it. From the middle of January.

Flower sniffing.
